On Tuesday, students and staff at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in Imo State avoided the school’s main entrance due to a coffin that had been put there.
To get around the object, they took detours.
It was unclear who dumped the coffin, but sources speculated that it could be members of one of the villages that has been at odds with the establishment of a property.
Palm fronds were also strewn at the school’s entrance, presumably to warn the administration to stay away from the contested area.
“We woke up this morning to see that thing there,” a source stated.
We don’t know who put it there, but some individuals have told us that it belongs to one of the communities in a property dispute with the school.”
Mrs Uche Nwelue, the Federal University of Technology Owerri ( FUTO) Public Relations Officer, said she was not at the school.
